Duty to provide information

Temporary-work agencies, foreign service providers, and foreign self-employed individuals who intend to provide services in Iceland for a total of more than ten working days in any twelve-month period must notify the Administration of Occupational Safety and Health (AOSH) and provide certain information. Registration must be completed no later than the same day operations commence in Iceland.

An exemption from a service provider’s duty to supply information applies to services involving specialized assembly, installation, supervision, or repair of equipment that are not intended to last longer than four weeks in any twelve-month period; in such cases, the company is not required to register. If there is any doubt as to whether a service provider must notify AOSH, the Administration should be contacted in all cases for guidance.
